2020 BMW X7 Release Date, Specs, Concept & Price
2020 BMW X7 will be the flagship of the larger and more luxurious BMW SUVs of the X5 and X6, to challenge the Range Rover and Bentley Bentayga.
Once again, patent drawings reveal the shapes of a new car. This time it is the 2020 BMW X7, the “BIG SUV” that will be presented in the autumn of 2018 designed to compete at the top of its category. Ultra-luxury SUVs are an expanding market niche and are born to satisfy the tastes of the new rich in the world, which come mainly from China, India, the Arab countries and the United States. Its competitors are already numerous to testify how attractive this market is to manufacturers: Cadillac Escalade, 2020 Mercedes GLS, Range Rover, Bentley Bentayga, are just some of the suv over 100,000 euros that the BMW X7 will have to challenge. The German has from its length of 502 cm and a step (the distance between the center of the front and rear wheels) of 7 cm more than the X5 to the advantage of internal habitability. X5 and X7 are based on the same platform.
Looking at the PICTURE, there are no big differences between the 2020 BMW X7 and the style proposal on which it is based, the BMW X7 iPerformance, but rather refinements in minor details to make the body soberer. In fact, on the fascia there are no longer the showy vertical friezes under the headlights, replaced by air intakes and by a decidedly more essential strip. The BMW X7 will have door handles and traditional mirrors (not tapered like on the prototype), more collected taillights and a rear fascia even in this case less elaborate, where there are no longer big L visions on the BMW X7 iPerformance concept. From the prototype, the chromed friezes are “inherited” on the lower part of the side and at the bottom of the side glass.
2020 BMW X7 Specs
In Europe, the B engines expected on the BMW X7 should be the same announced on the new X5, so the 3.0-liter 3.0-hp petrol and two six-cylinder 3.0-liter 265 hp and 400 hp. Then you should not miss the powerful petrol V8 4.4 with over 500 hp and a hybrid with rechargeable batteries. The X7 will be shown later this year and will be built in the US factory in Spartanburg, where BMW builds all its SUVs.
Lexus and Infiniti would have commercialized the prototype as it was, already feasible, we see that it is addressed to a more traditionalist public. Anyway, it will be an X5 (still) bigger, or rather the X5 will be a smaller X7 since the latter has been presented before. Honestly, I like it. The direct rival is the GLS, the Escalade is bigger and conceptually different, the Range Rover is a chapter in itself, given the great off-road skills, the Bentayga costs double, while it is similar to the Mercedes and precisely with the house in Stuttgart it’s a hit and answers for models.
