Honda is developing its first electric for the city, which we will see in 2019. The electric utility 2020 Honda Urban EV Concept was among the most popular cars at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017, thanks to the essential style and playful retro style inspired by the 1967 N360 car. Based on that prototype, a production car, also pure electric, will arrive in 2019, which has started the development tests on the road in recent weeks, as shown by the spy images published on the website. Auto Motor a Sport. No detail has yet leaked on the power of the electric motor or on the capacity of the batteries
2020 Honda Urban EV Dimensions
The main innovation of the production car is in the number of the doors: the Honda Urban EV Concept had three, while on the test sample there are five. The wheel arches also seem less pronounced and the wheels are no longer extra-large, but other than these details there are no major changes compared to the prototype, which had a flat front bonnet, circular lights and a rounded rear pillar, details taken on the photographed car. The Honda Urban EV Concept is 390 cm long, so the car sales should not deviate too much from this measure.
The deeper changes between the concept car and the car sales are expected inside, where we will find a version certainly less futuristic than the big screen on the shelf that made the interior of the 2020 Honda Urban EV a middle ground between a cabin of piloting and a games room. The dashboard should still maintain the clean and essential look seen on the prototype. The test specimen is equipped with cameras in place of the rear-view mirrors, a solution that Honda is working on but which is not permitted by law in many parts of the world.
