2020 KIA SOUL – REDESIGN, SPECS, FEATURES
Here is The New 2020 Kia Soul. The third generation of the Kia Soul makes its debut completely but remains faithful to the style that has made it unique.
2020 Kia Soul Redesign
The nice and youthful look was one of the keys to success for Kia Soul. Not surprisingly, the Korean manufacturer has not changed the basic philosophy for the third generation of this original compact crossover, shown in preview in the past few hours at the Los Angeles Motor Show, which will go on sale in the United States before July 2019. There remain the vertical sides, the flat roof and generally angular lines, but the designers have worked on the details, knowing that turning a car so lucky (in particular in the United States) could be a risk: that’s when the lights and mask they are thinner, the bands change and a contrasting frieze appears in the rear pillar of the roof. The taillights are connected to each other.
Interior & New Features
The 2020 Kia Soul is based on a new platform and gains a few centimeters on the outside, where the length goes from 414 to 420 cm and the wheelbase reaches 260 cm (3 cm more). Height and width remain unchanged at 159 and 180 cm. The slight increase in external dimensions translates into more luggage space, according to what was announced by the house, because the capacity increases by 142 liters and reaches 674 liters with the sofa in the position of use.
The Kia has also revised the shape of the “mouth” of cargo, now wider and lowered, while below the floor of the trunk is a double bottom. The interior focuses on more classic and rounded lines, such as the “porthole” in the console where the 10.25 “touchscreen of the multimedia system is located. There is no shortage of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features and the 8 “head up display, which projects essential driver information (speed, GPS indications) on a transparent screen at the base of the windscreen.
2020 Kia Soul Engine – Two Petrol & Electric Motor
In the United States, the 2020 Kia Soul will be ordered with two petrol engines: the 2.0 aspirated 149 bhp and the 1.6 204 bhp turbocharger. As an alternative, the electric version of Soul EV (pictured above), with a credential of 204 hp, is available, which the driver can take advantage of by selecting four different driving programs: in Eco + and Eco, efficiency is privileged, in Comfort comfort and in Sport the brio. The zero-emission Soul battery is 64 kWh. This is not the only difference with the gasoline Soul, because the EV adopts specific bands, a revisited template and 17 “wheels that improve the aerodynamics of the car (and consequently the efficiency, even if for the moment not autonomy is known).
Among the technologies foreseen for the new Soul 2020, there is the maintenance of the lane, the monitoring of blind spots and the automatic switching off of the high beam.
