The new spy photos that depict the new Porsche 911 series, 2020 Porsche 992 now fully reveal the style: it is more muscular but remains unmistakable.

There are few “secrets” that we do not yet know of the new Porsche 911 , the legendary German sports waiting by the end of 2018 that photographers of the weekly Autocar surprised almost without masking during a test session, thus giving us the opportunity to make new assessments on style. The eighth generation of 911 (project code 992), redesigned in the tradition but updated according to the new features seen on the most recent Porsche: the rear for example is quite high from the ground and has thin LED lights, joined by a thin strip of light similar to that already seen on the Cayenne and Panamera . The grid at the base of the rear window seems to be a tribute to the 911 3.0 of 1976, while in the front you can see the new squared and low front bonnet that recalls that of the original 911. In general, the shape remains the unmistakable shape of the German sports car, but it seems even more muscular than the previous 991 due to a further widening of the roadways.
2020 Porsche 992 Hybrid
According to the latest rumors the 2020 Porsche 992 it will be built on an updated version of the 991 platform, again with the cantilever rear engine, which can be adapted with marginal modifications also for the new Porsche 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman, which instead have the engine in a central position. The evolved MMB platform allowed the technicians to widen the carriageways (index of greater stability) and was designed making extensive use of aluminum and high strength metals, materials able to increase the structural rigidity (which is reflected in the pleasure of driving ) without compromising lightness. The engineers also had the task of preparing the 992 for the adoption of a hybrid engine, which will be used for the first time in a Porsche 911: the polluting emissions and fuel consumption will be cut, but the driver can also take advantage of the electric unit to improve the cue in recovery. The 911 hybrid should arrive in 2020, unlike the electric variant, which at the moment is not part of the German house’s programs.
Another absolute novelty of the Porsche 911 series 992 will be the use of only supercharged engines, even for the very sporty GT3 and GT3 RS, the only ones left on sale with a six-liter aspirated 4.0-liter engine capable of “pulling” up to 9,000 rpm. The engine of the 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S will almost certainly be an evolution of the current 6-cylinder boxer of 3.0, which according to advances should earn 10 bhp in the case of Carrera and 15 bhp in the case of Carrera S, which will thus reach 380 Hp and 435 Hp. The 911 GT3 will have more than 500 hp and the 911 Turbo should approach the 600, about 35 hp less than the Turbo S, while the hybrid could count on about 700 hp. There will be new and more sophisticated driver assistance technologies available, but the driver can still deactivate them in order to have full control of the car.
