2020 Skoda Kamiq: Mini SUV Specs, Concept, Pricing
Skoda completes its SUV range with the 2020 Skoda Kamiq. Small to make inroads in the cities. n the occasion of the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Skoda launches its SUV offensive: the Skoda Kamiq. The small Czech newcomer tries to make a break in the B segment, offering acceptable dimensions even for traveling around the city.
Only a small SUV at Skoda was missing to complete its offensive in terms of “raised cars”, and with the Skoda Kamiq, it can be said that the attack plan is complete. At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, everything will be done in practice.
New 2020 Skoda Kamiq boasts of those typical aspects of the design of the latest proposals of the Czech brand, such as the three-dimensional grille or the aggressive lines on the bonnet. The whole front wants to underline an aggressive but above all off-road character of this “small” SUV, which then also exploits a side view that highlights a good height from the ground. At the rear, it becomes interesting to observe the design of the headlights, which are a reinterpretation of the classic C shape that Skoda is offering on the latest models. A luminous signature that should not be underestimated.
2020 Skoda Kamiq Interior
Internally, Skoda Kamiq proposes itself as an innovator, because design recalls and evolves a stylistic course that has now begun. Everything is arranged in a rational way and recalls the concept of Simply Clever that is so dear to Skoda. On the dashboard, there is a touchscreen display for the infotainment that can reach up to 9.2 inches, practically among the largest in its category, while the instrumentation is obviously a large digital display – the minimum considering the recent trend – with a diagonal from 10.25 inches. Ample space has been reserved for the perception of quality, a must for Skoda especially in recent times, which is aiming in an incredible way at a rewarding user experience for its customers. The ambient color is variable, the door trims and the textures that reflect the crystal surfaces close a picture that can give real added value to this new proposal.
From the point of view of the engines, there are five proposals already available at launch, all with braking and Start & Stop energy recovery systems. We speak not only of petrol and diesel but also of methane. Gasoline 1.0 TSI with 95 and 110 horsepower are the inputs in the range, which are flanked by a 1.5 TSI with 150 horsepower with cylinder deactivation system. Alongside the petrol, there is a 1.6 diesel with 115 horses and then, for those who prefer methane gas, a 1.0 G-TEC of 90 horses.
