2023 BMW i8 Coupe Superacar With 700 Hp

BMW is considering the possibility of introducing a real supercar on the market able to compete on equal terms with the likes of Ferrari and McLaren. The news was published by the Autocar, which interviewed Klaus Fröhlich, a member of the BMW board of directors and responsible for product development, who spoke about this new project. The new supercar should take the place of the BMW i8, which is currently the main hybrid sports car of the German company. However, unlike the i8, you can count on more power, as well as benefit from all the progress achieved by the German company in terms of electrification and light materials.

Specs – Hybrid With 700 Horsepower

The future BMW supercar should be at the top of the range of products in the German sports division, the BMW M. Most likely to reduce costs, the same frame as the BMW i8, which has a monocoque chassis in carbon fiber. The engine will be a plug-in hybrid, therefore with rechargeable batteries: the petrol unit could be a six-cylinder turbo, for a total system power of over 700 hp, so almost double the 374 hp delivered by the i8 and more of the 620 hp of the next M8. The exit on the market should take place in 2023 at a price comparable to that of rivals, first of all, the heir to the Ferrari 488, which will also be hybrid.

confirmations are also confirmed on future versions of BMW M, which will be characterized by the progressive introduction of hybrid engines, but there will also be electric models, without excluding variants with the classic endothermic engine.
